Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice on planning a vacation. With the current situation, I'm particularly interested in destinations where Ukrainian citizens can travel without needing a visa. I've heard some countries have eased entry requirements, but I'm not sure where to start looking. Does anyone have recent experience or know of good resources for finding this information? Any tips on places that are particularly welcoming and easy to get to would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there! This is a really important question right now. I've been researching this for my friends too. Good luck with your planning!

The easiest options are definitely within the Schengen area if you have temporary protection status. Most EU countries are very welcoming.

Absolutely agree with the Schengen area comment. Beyond that, Turkey and Georgia are usually good options for visa-free travel for Ukrainians, and they've maintained that.

Don't forget Montenegro and Albania! They've historically been visa-free for Ukrainians and are lovely places for a break.

I'd highly recommend checking the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs website of Ukraine. They usually have the most up-to-date list of visa regimes by country.

For specific info, sometimes individual embassy websites for the destination country can clarify current entry rules, especially regarding any special provisions for Ukrainians.

My sister just went to Croatia without any issues. She said it was very straightforward and everyone was super kind.

That's great to hear about Croatia! Is that under general visa-free or specific temporary protection status?

Just a heads-up, even if a country is visa-free, always double-check the required documents like passport validity and proof of return ticket or sufficient funds. Better safe than sorry.

I second the MFA website recommendation. Also, look for travel blogs or Facebook groups specifically for Ukrainians traveling abroad. You often get real-time updates there.

Cyprus is another good one. Visa-free for Ukrainians and a beautiful place for a relaxing vacation.

Has anyone had experience with non-European countries? Like, perhaps some South American options or even Asia?

Regarding non-EU, I know some countries like Mexico and Peru have historically been visa-free for Ukrainians, but with the current situation, I'd definitely verify those rules very carefully before planning. They might have changed.

A friend of mine went to Moldova recently, very easy entry and quite welcoming. Not exactly a 'vacation' spot for everyone, but definitely an option.

Don't forget to check if there are any specific COVID-19 related entry requirements still in place for your chosen destination. That's often overlooked now.

I've heard great things about Poland and Germany if you're looking for somewhere with established Ukrainian communities and support networks. Not just for vacation, but good for feeling at home.
