My flight was canceled by the airline about two weeks ago, and I am still waiting for my money back. I have already filled out their online request form twice, but I keep getting automated responses saying they are 'processing' my claim. Does anyone have advice on how to escalate this or who I should contact next? I'm worried that if I wait much longer, the window for a chargeback might close. Any tips on how to handle this would be greatly appreciated.

I had the exact same issue last year. Don't wait any longer-just call your bank and initiate a chargeback now. It's the only thing that finally got them to move.

Have you tried reaching out to them on Twitter? Sometimes public shaming via their support handle gets a human to actually look at your case.

Check the Department of Transportation website if you are in the US. They have strict rules about refunds for canceled flights that airlines hate to admit.

I agree with the previous advice about the chargeback. Waiting for 'processing' is just a tactic they use to drag it out. Start the dispute with your credit card company today.

Keep all your emails and screenshots of the 'processing' messages. You will need that documentation if the bank asks for proof that you tried to resolve it with the merchant first.

This is why I only book with a credit card that offers robust travel protection. It saves so much stress in these situations.

It took me three months to get my money back from a budget airline. Persistence is key-call them every single day until you get a supervisor.

Don't bother with the online forms. They go into a black hole. Find a direct customer service email address or a phone number that bypasses the automated system.

Are you sure the flight was actually canceled by them? If it was a 'schedule change' that you didn't accept, they are still required to refund you.

I had a similar experience. Once I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the airline contacted me within 48 hours to settle it.

If you paid with a debit card, you might have less protection than a credit card. Check your bank's policy immediately.
