I have an upcoming international flight that lasts over 14 hours and I'm honestly dreading it. I usually struggle to get comfortable in economy and end up feeling exhausted and stiff by the time I land. Does anyone have any specific advice on what to pack in a carry-on or how to manage sleep cycles during such a long trip? I'm open to any suggestions on gear like neck pillows or noise-canceling headphones that actually make a difference.

Compression socks are an absolute game changer. They stop your legs from feeling like logs by the time you land.

Totally agree with the compression socks! Also, try to drink way more water than you think you need. Dehydration makes the jet lag so much worse.

Invest in a decent pair of noise-canceling headphones. It makes the engine hum disappear and helps you actually get some sleep.

I second the noise-canceling headphones, but make sure they are comfortable enough to wear while laying your head against the seat. Bulky ones can be annoying.

For the sleep cycle, start adjusting your watch to the destination time the moment you board the plane. It helps mentally prepare you.

That's a good tip, but I usually find it easier to just stay awake until it's night time in the new time zone. Keeps me from waking up at 3 AM local time.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a neck pillow that doesn't just push your head forward? I've tried three and they all suck.

Look into the 'Trtl' travel pillow. It looks weird but it actually supports your neck properly without the bulk.

Download a bunch of offline content on your phone. Don't rely on the seatback screen, because sometimes they break or the selection is just terrible.

For sure. I always bring a portable charger too, just in case the USB port at the seat is broken or super slow.

Try to get up and walk the aisle every 2-3 hours. It helps with circulation and keeps you from feeling like a pretzel.

I honestly just take a mild melatonin right after the first meal service. Knocks me out for a solid 6 hours.

Don't forget a change of fresh clothes in your carry-on. Putting on a clean t-shirt and brushing your teeth before landing makes you feel like a new person.
