My family and I are planning a trip to the Carpathian Mountains for a long weekend next month. We really want to find a place that has a decent-sized outdoor or indoor pool, as the kids love to swim after a long day of hiking. We are looking for something comfortable but not necessarily ultra-luxury, ideally with a nice view of the mountains. Does anyone have any personal favorites or spots they've visited recently that they would recommend? Any help with specific regions or towns would be greatly appreciated.

Check out Bukovel, they have plenty of hotels with heated pools. It can be a bit pricey, but worth it for the kids.

I second Bukovel, but if you want something quieter, look into Tatariv. It's much more peaceful.

Try 'Radisson Blu' if you want a guaranteed nice pool, but honestly, there are smaller chalets in Yaremche that are way better for families.

Do you prefer the Ukrainian or Romanian side of the Carpathians? Makes a big difference for hotel options.

We stayed at a place called 'Guest House Veranda' last summer. Small pool, but the mountain view from the terrace is unbeatable.

Thanks for the tip! Is it suitable for toddlers too?

Yeah, it has a shallow section. My kids loved it.

Honestly, skip the big resorts. Look for private villas in Mykulychyn; many have their own small pools and are way cheaper.

That's a great idea, I never thought about private villas.

Make sure to check the water temperature before booking. Some 'heated' pools in the mountains are still pretty chilly in the evenings.

Good point. I learned that the hard way last year at a hotel near Vorokhta.

Look at 'Koruna' in Tatariv. It's got that authentic vibe, nice views, and a decent pool for the kids.

I've heard Koruna is great, but is it walkable to the town center?

Not really, you'd definitely need a car if you stay there.

If you want luxury on a budget, look for 'Hotel Romantik Spa' in Yaremche. Their pool area is huge.

Is it too crowded? We're looking for something a bit more low-key.

It gets busy on weekends, so try to go during the week if you can.

Don't forget to pack extra towels, even if the hotel provides them, just in case.
