My partner and I are looking to escape the city for a couple of days next weekend. We want to find a nice recreation center or a quiet lodge within a two-hour drive of Kyiv that offers some nature, maybe a sauna, and good walking paths. We don't need anything too fancy, just a clean and peaceful place to recharge away from the constant noise. Does anyone have any favorite spots they've visited recently that they would recommend? We'd prefer somewhere that isn't too crowded with noisy events if possible.

Hey! For a quiet getaway with nature and walking, I highly recommend checking out the area around Pereyaslav. There are a few smaller guesthouses and recreation spots there that are usually pretty chill.

Oh, Pereyaslav is a good shout! We went to a place called 'Zalissya' a few months back, it was super peaceful and had lovely forest trails. Not sure if they have a sauna though, but worth checking.

If you're looking for nature, consider heading towards the west, towards Zhytomyr region. There are some beautiful forests and lakes. We stayed at a small place near Korostyshiv last year and it was very quiet.

I've heard good things about 'Verkholy' near Boryspil. It's a bit more resort-like, but they have nice grounds and often offer spa services. Might be slightly more than 'not too fancy' though.

We actually just got back from a place called 'Kolyba' near Obukhiv. It's a bit rustic, but very clean, has a great sauna, and the walking paths through the woods were perfect. Not crowded at all when we were there on a Saturday.

The 'Kolyba' suggestion sounds promising! Is it easy to get to from Kyiv?

Yes, 'Kolyba' is pretty straightforward to reach, maybe 40 minutes to an hour drive from the city center depending on traffic. Definitely fits the 'within two hours' criteria.

For real quiet, I'd suggest looking at places along the Dnipro river, but a bit further out. Some of the smaller villages have private houses for rent that are incredibly peaceful. You might need to pack your own food though.

What about 'Dobro Park'? It's known for its gardens, but I think they have some accommodation options and it's generally well-maintained. Might be a bit busier though, especially on a weekend.

Dobro Park can be lovely, but yeah, it can get quite busy with families and events. Probably not the 'quiet lodge' vibe you're after. I'd stick to the smaller, less advertised places.

I'm also looking for something similar! It's tough to find places that are truly quiet these days. Let me know if you find any gems!

Have you considered renting a cottage through Airbnb or Booking.com? You can filter by amenities like sauna and location, and often find hidden spots that aren't listed on big resort sites.

Good idea with the rental sites! We found a great little cabin near Pushcha-Vodytsia a while back that way. It was basic but had a lovely fireplace and was surrounded by trees. Perfect for a quiet escape.
